Traveling on a budget during Covid-19

Nice to see you again guys!

It’s not always easy to stay positive during these times but for me looking forward to already booked travels helps me a lot with maintaining my good mood. As you've already seen in the title this article will go about traveling cheap in covid-19 times. I can only speak about my experiences within Europe so far. It’s about traveling to European destinations for European people. So sorry if you’re not from the European Union but hopefully soon I can write an blog article about traveling international on a budget.

Let’s continue about what i’ve learned about reading and experiencing the situation in Denmark with Faroe Islands, Greece, Italy and Austria so far. The whole travel experiences were really good and much more enjoyable then in normal years because without that huge amount of international travelers from China, the USA, South Korea, Japan etc…

The prices fror flights, accommodations and rental cars will go up with high demand and will go down normally with less demand. So if you’re booking it when everyone feels safe then you’re definitely paying the highest prices. The conclusion for this is to book when the cases of covid-19 infections are on a more higher but falling level because then you get the lower prices and in perspective a better situation at the travel destination within the next 4-6 weeks. The problem of closed borders isn’t one because all nations in europe decided to let the borders open in the future. Then only thing I would consider is that some countries like Spain, the UK, France and a few others are suffering a lot with high infected rates so I would recommend to wait to travel some of these countries in the near future.

I want to say that i definitely don’t want anyone get infected! I only want to give you a better understanding of how you can Save Your Money in these times if you want to travel for leisure or even for work.

Lets continue with the considerations. If you’re thinking about traveling to certain places in Europe try to look at the overall situation and book the flights via the airline website, the accommodation via AirBnB or Booking and the rental car though the company’s website. Its important to book through the official websites because of not you don’t get the free rebooking or free cancellations options. For example I booked flights to Norway in February through Lufthansa.com because there I can reebok my cheap tariff for free. I booked the accommodation through AirBnB.com because in case of cancellation i’ll get my money back within 7 days. Also I booked my rental car through Europcar.com which provides free cancellation. In case of any problem with Norways entry restrictions I can cancel or reebok m trip to later date within one year.

I hope this help you a little bit with your thinking about booking a trip at the moment and the only thing I wanted to do is helping you saving your money.

And guys please stay safe at all times and if your struggling how to be a responsible tourist in these times please read my other Blogpost about “7 Ways to be a responsible tourist during Covid-19”.

Thank you for reading guys and see you soon.
