7 Ways to be a responsible Tourist during Covid-19

I’m thankful that you found the way back to my Blog. We are living in crazy circumstances in the year 2020 and we are minimum a half a year away from going back to a normal life. But in the last months we also saw some changes to a new normal in the travel industries handling the pandemic. The airlines are putting up health protocols like boarding with a negative PCR Test-results and cleaning the airplanes much better then before. On a European level traveling was partially allowed to other European- or Schengen-countries since June and since July as a European traveling within Europe was totally possible. Some countries like Iceland and the Faroe Islands allowed traveling with a PCR Test at the airport, some countries put up a online registration like Greece and some Countries didn’t wanted anything from the travelers like France or Spain. In these times of allowed traveling the Travelers must be more precautios and responsible then ever before because if not the cases will rise and many people will lose their jobs in the tourism sector and also some will lose their lives.

Lets start with 5 Ways to be more a responsible Tourist during a worldwide Pandemic:

  1. Do a PCR Swab Test in your home country before traveling anywhere. This helps in two ways before you’re traveling. You’re nearly safe that you don’t have Covid-19 and the more important part is that you can’t infect others during your arrival and in the first days of your trip/vacation.

  2. Be a really clean Tourist with wearing the mask in every situation where its needed and always wash your hands 30 seconds and additionally wear a high quality hand sanitizer with you that you can always sanitize your hands if needed. Additionally if you want to be safe and safe others please wear a FFP2 or FFP3 mask during the flight or in any public transportation where you meet other people.

  3. Always keep the distance of 1.5 meters to other people. Its really important to stay 1-2 meters away from people outside your family, partner and near friends. This is one of the most important parts of stopping the transmission between humans.

  4. Be responsible in the way that you always respect the rules and laws in every country! In normal times it’s also important to follow the rules but now its more important then ever because you can save many lives if you always follow the rules to stay safe and that you cannot infect others. Also its very important to follow them because every another lockdown in a region will risk the jobs of many tourism sector employees.

  5. Don’t travel from heavily risk areas to other areas without doing a five day Quarantine at home with an following PCR Test be safe that you don’t infect people at home or people at another travel destination. And also its really important to follow strictly the quarantine rules.

  6. Meet other unknown people always outside that the possibility of an aerosole transmission will be lowered to a minimum. Because of wind the transmission of the virus particles outside is lowered to a minimum.

  7. And last but not least please try to have fun during your travels even if the situation isn’t the one you’re normally traveling in. Its important to follow the rules but after that just have fun.
